Somewhere in toddy history, tea replaced plain water, and then even heavy cream or milk was introduced to create a creamier version. There's even a Chicken Soup Toddy made with chicken stock, gin, celery bitters and lemon juice according to Liquor.com. (if you try it, be sure to tell us!)
Somewhere between Egg Nog and close the slew of cream and spirited Coffees, is a soothing warm toddy made with bourbon, warmed milk, honey and topped with a melted pat of butter. Considered a Hot Buttered Rum when made with such a spirit, we think a Hot Buttered Bourbon featuring our William Alan Bourbon is a tastier way to go.
It's an ideal soother when the winter blues kick in! It's easy to make, in a small pot on low heat add 1 .5oz William Alan Bourbon to 5 oz of milks. Add honey to desired sweetness and a table spoon of butter. Warm, stirring to ensure it doesn't scald, and butter is melted in. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy!
iYou can find William Alan at your favorite liquor retailer or right here at the Distillery, Thursday through Saturday.
